So we launched BuzzFever.com the other day, and that night my wife says to me:
Is this going to be our third child?
I have to admit there are some similarities. I've not gotten regular sleep. Though it's not because "the baby" is crying–she is relatively quite (especially with the holiday weekend). Rather, I lie awake listening, excited about this new little one. Every page hit, new user, new product. She's so cute.

On October 15th, 2005 I had an idea for a website I wanted to build. It was a big project. Bigger than I imagined. But, with much time, sacrifice, and caffeine it's almost here. buzzfever uses the collective power of the internet to track product buzz. You can read more about it on the official blog. What follows below is a personal snippet of the journey.
I initially started working on the site while I had a full-time job, so I spent many evenings and weekends coding while my wonderful wife sacrificed those times by taking care of our two young children–whom she already cared for all day long. I was excited about the site and motivation was high, but coding on nights and weekends leaves the very last bit of brain juice for your project. My good brain hours were spent during the workday at my full-time job.
A decision had to be made: scrap buzzfever OR quit my full-time job and work solely on buzzfever. After much number crunching, thought, and prayer, my wife and I chose the latter. In March 2006, I left my good paying job and started working at home full-time on buzzfever. I'm sure some thought I was crazy. Hey, maybe I am. You have to be just a little crazy to do something like this, right?
Many lines of code and several months later, we're at the brink of launch, and I couldn't be more excited. Stay tuned to this site or the official buzzfever blog for more.
